Fossilized Megalodon Shark Tooth Necklace 2.6 inches

The majority of the fossils found in Venice are from the Miocene to early Pleistocene. The Miocene ranges 5-23 million years old where the early Pleistocene ranges 11,700 to 2.5 million years old. These fossil formations are exposed off the coast of Venice, Florida and surrounding cities. They are usually found anywhere from the beaches to miles offshore in the Gulf of Mexico. These fossils are collected scuba diving off of my kayak in the Gulf of Mexico. They are typically found laying on the ocean floor, exposed by storms and tides. Visibility can be an issue, ranging from less than 1 feet during the worst days to 10+ feet of visibility on a good day.

This meg tooth measures 2.6 inches and is wrapped in silver plated wire and assembled on a 19 inch black leather necklace with a stainless steel clasp.
